dear ‘sup d,

why would you tag a cupcake bakery? sup with that, d? you must be related to the guy who robbed us the night before valentines day. i don’t mean to say that all criminals are related to criminals. i’m sorry for that snippy comment. please don’t be mad.

and please don’t effing tag our little bakery! this blogity writer personally and delicately hand painted behind that sign and now it’s defiled. you defiler. look at me, i’ve lost it again. i’m sorry.

if we got crayons and coloring books in the shop could that fill a void in your life? let us know.

thanks,

saint cupcake

we sure did enjoy you this year. but like every year, just when we get used to having you around, you leave. i didn’t even mind that the air conditioning in my car broke while you were here. it’s not that i think it was your fault, summer, but you sure made it noticeable, that’s for shizzle. you know we all wore flip flops for a few months because of you. we made sure our toes looked pretty and sometimes some of us shaved our legs, all for you. you gave us berries, sprinkler runs, drippy popsicle, mosquito bites, bbqs, beer in a can, fireworks well before and well after their designated usage date, hillary duff, chicago AND bon jovi on the today show summer concert series in rockefeller plaza, and the new and improved saint cupcake patio, filled to the brim with happy summer cupcake eaters. those are really nice things, summer. especially bon jovi and his big teeth.

you know when fall gets here to replace you for a while we will all still be ok. we’re not mad at you; we are not hurt. we just think that you don’t have to leave so abruptly. none of the other seasons do, just keep that in mind when you pack up your day spf 50 and go.

we’re just going to sit here under these fluffy umbrellas while you pack. don’t mind us. we are just going to think about the yummy fall menu of turtle cupcakes, cute cookies, upcoming pies and the new chai tea cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese icing.

love ya,

saint cupcake

he’s got a best friend named sophie. she’s a giraffe and she’s french.
his favorite cupcake is vanilla with vanilla buttercream. he said so. (but he’s never had one before. i mean ‘yet’.)

lake oswego, we miss you, too.

beginning in may, saint cupcake was showing up at the crack of post dawn/early morning and setting up shop at the lovely lake o farmer’s market. it was there that we met cute boys selling sausages, friendly peonie peddlers, mary, the coordinator of all market coordinators, russel and max, two kids with one mission: to sell wood grilling planks and whole bean coffee to, well anyone. then of course there was julie seller of a bazillion strawberries, without whom we would not have been able to set up our tent and our precious cakes would have been rendered melted without the shade. and these are just some of the other vendors we miss. we had even more loyal customers to chat with. oh the chatting.

where’ve we been you ask? well, we took off the month of july because every saturday was booked to the hilt with wedding cupcakes. there was not a single cupcake to spare to bring over to the farmer’s market so we thought it best to not set up a booth without cupcakes. our plan to return for the month of august was once again foiled by the number of happy couples wanting saint cupcake to bless their weddings. so lake oswego, we are sorry to say that we won’t be returning until september. (although, september is starting to overflow with wedding receptions, too!)

until then, lake oswegoian’s consider this an invitation to portland proper and stop by either saint cupcake location. and if you are going to ikea, don’t leave your cupcakes in the car: like puppies, they will wilt, even with the window cracked.

(the lake oswego farmers markets are saturdays from 8:30 to 1:30 thru mid october; it’s located at the scenic millennium park plaza at 1st and evergreen streets in downtown guess where. you should check it out!) **
